Technical SEO Audit & Website Architecture for MKAZ Car Rental

A practical investigation into sitemap complexity, indexing anomalies, search landing pages and WordPress SEO architecture.

Industry: Car rental & transportation · Project work: December 2025 – February 2026

THE PROJECT

Making sense of a complex website URL inventory

A multi-location car rental website needs clear connections between services, vehicles and destinations. For MKAZ Car Rental, our work focused on understanding which URLs represented useful search landing pages, which needed investigation, and how the website's architecture could be organised more consistently.

How we approached the work

01

URL inventory and crawl preparation

The project began with a sitemap extraction containing 1,316 URLs, including pages, media and other assets. We separated candidate HTML landing pages from non-page resources, then prepared focused URL batches for Screaming Frog SEO Spider analysis.

02

Indexing and URL investigation

We examined malformed booking-related paths, language URL patterns, redirects and unexpected archive URLs. Google Search Console findings were assessed alongside website behaviour rather than assuming every reported URL required a code change.

03

Search performance diagnosis

Google Search Console query and landing-page data helped frame the investigation. Query and landing-page patterns provided diagnostic context for prioritising the technical investigation.

04

Location-page and competitor architecture

We reviewed the relationship between KLIA-related landing pages and benchmarked location-page organisation against another Malaysian car rental website. The objective was to clarify page purpose and reduce overlapping search intent.

05

WordPress implementation planning

Follow-on work covered reusable location-page templates and easier management of links between locations and vehicle categories, supporting a more maintainable website architecture.

Tools and technical areas

Screaming Frog SEO Spider supported URL-level crawl investigation. Google Search Console provided indexing and query-level context. The WordPress review covered redirect behaviour, page organisation, Polylang-related paths and internal linking architecture.

What this project demonstrates

Technical SEO is not just a list of warnings from an automated scan. It involves interpreting crawl findings, checking real URL behaviour, understanding search intent and deciding which changes are appropriate for the website.

This project demonstrates how a structured technical SEO assessment turns crawl findings, indexing questions and website architecture into actionable recommendations.
